Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) the oldest and yet the best choice for natural healing.   TCM the healing art from China, is a holistic system of health care that aims to bring the body, mind and spirit into balance.

Acupuncture originated over 5,000 years ago. TCM has proven itself to be the most natural and safest medical system that is also highly effective and economical. In China, most of the country’s billion-plus population still depends on TCM. Acupuncture, which is part of TCM, is now well accepted in the USA and in most countries across the world.

TCM is based on Eastern philosophy that is quite different from the West. It perceives man as a Microcosm of the universe, and as a part of one unbroken whole-ness called “Tao’, which says all things in the universe depend and act to keep in harmony with nature. “Tao” consists of two opposite yet complementary energies namely the Yin (negative) and Yang (positive). It is essential to keep these two energies (life energy called Qi for human being) in balance or disease would be developed.

Another TCM theory is called Five Elements Theory. The five elements are WOOD, FIRE, EARTH, METAL and WATER. Everything in the universe can be classified into one of the five elements by its nature. For example, kidney belongs to water and heart belongs to fire. Water controls fire and fire consumes water. Insomnia is usually caused by the imbalance of kidney and heart. TCM doctors use this theory in diagnosis and designing treatment.

Chinese medicine (TCM) includes

  • Acupuncture
  • Chinese Herbal Remedies
  • Chinese Tuna (Therapeutic massage)
  • Qigong (Energy Healing and Meditation)
  • And some other methods
  • Chinese doctors usually use a combination of the above modalities.
